Works under the redevelopment of stadium will include provision of an 18,000-seat stadium, demolition of the south stand, replacement of the south and east stands with newly constructed stands to provide greater enclosure, refurbishment of the west and north stands, and replacement of high mast flood lights with lower level lighting integrated at stadium roof height.

The redevelopment project will also include creation of a temporary construction access onto Boucher Road to avoid construction impact on local residents, development of ancillary office accommodation to provide new headquarters for the Irish Football Association, and development of an appropriate level of conference and community facilities.

The stakeholders included the design team led by Hamilton Architects, and planning consultants RPS.

The Irish FA, which finalised the planning application before its submission in December 2012, intends to reconstruct Windsor Park so that up to 18,000 fans can be accommodated with the support of DCAL.

The project, which is planned to begin in September 2013, will cost around £29.2 million ($44.1 million) with government providing funds of £25.2 million ($38.1 million).
