Schrager put Miami Beach back on the map as a resort destination with his Delano hotel 17 years ago, one of the first new hotels to come along since the Sixties. Now Miami Beach is fast becoming an international city with its art scene, architecture and cultural institutions, and Schrager has commissioned Pawson design an exclusive collection of private residences. They will sit on the top floors of the landmark Fifties’ building that will be Shrager’s Miami Beach EDITION hotel, as well as in an adjacent, newly constructed 18-storey tower.
Pawson has used finishes and detail to create interiors of maximum comfort, functionality and aesthetic pleasure. Living areas have floor-to-ceiling windows and bleached teak flooring throughout, including the balconies and terraces. Each residence has custom-designed, open kitchens and master bathrooms with Italian white onyx translucent screens and custom-cast, integral concrete baths and sinks.
