The renovated space has received small rooms for patient registration rather than an open desk for the emergency department (ED). Individual registration rooms are located in the former medical imaging department. The new waiting room is equipped with flat screen televisions. All these improvements are implemented to simplify patient registration, enhance privacy and security, and to improve ambulance accessibility and work areas.
The long awaited renovation project has made the ED area more spacious. An area where physicians can admit their patients is also incorporated as part of the renovation. An important benefit of the renovation is the view of the ED, which now offers clear views to all rooms. The nursing station has also received an improved space.
The $1.5 million first floor renovation began on September 22, 2009, with approximately 13,500 square feet of space receiving renovation.
