The new IFC Tower 2 is located in the heart of the financial district of Jakarta and within the golden triangle zone. The new Grade A column-free office tower will offer a net total leasable space of more than 50,000 square metre, which will complement the fully-occupied Tower 1.
The new office tower will be built to include various sustainable elements, based on which it is being targeted for Green Mark GoldPLUS Award from the Building and Construction Authority (BCA) of Singapore. If awarded, the tower will be the first building in Jakarta to win the award.
The sustainable features of the building will consist of rainwater harvesting system, which will accumulate and recycle it for irrigation purposes; water- and energy-efficient fixtures in the common areas of the building, and double-glazed low emission glass, which will offer superior heat insulation to the building.
The sustainable initiatives of the building is likely to enable it to reap more than 25% savings in energy consumption and 6,000 cubic metres of water.
Construction on the project is scheduled for wrap-up in 2015.
