The award was presented by India’s Prime Minister Manmohan Singh, on August 28, 2009 at the Coir Industry Awards 2008–09 in the city of New Delhi.
Sudhakar Pai, chairman and managing director of Kurl-on, received the award.
Sivaram, chief marketing officer of Kurl-on, was reported stating that Kurl-on is embarking on a multi-pronged strategy to expand its market. He adds that they have launched Kurl-on Nest stores in all the major cities in India which offer a complete range of home furnishings.
The company, which currently sells through a network of 5,000 retail shops, aims to double the network size in the next two to three years.
