Approximately 120 metres of Rainline gutters plus down pipes and fixing components are being installed on 13 Aldi stores by specialist contractor, Europa Roofing Services.
International grocery retailer Aldi, as part of its development strategy, is currently refurbishing many of its existing UK outlets as well as opening new stores. The company is keen to use wherever possible, sustainable building materials and were happy to change their original specification to Rainline on the advice of contactors Europa.
Steve Barron of Europa comments: “Aldi initially specified a roof drainage system manufactured from titanium zinc, which they use in Germany, but we suggested this material was too soft and could easily be damaged. So we recommended
‘Rainline’ and they really liked the way it looked and its durability.
It is impact and vandal resistant, and with a long service life offers a real alternative to other rainwater materials, as a further benefit, our installation team also found ‘Rainline’ quick and easy to fit, so saving valuable time on site.”
Rainline for this project was manufactured by Lindab from high quality steel coated with an aluminum and zinc finish which is highly resistant to corrosion, is self healing when cut or scratched and virtually maintenance free.
