Inspired by an 1876 rare manuscript, the Tarantella collection features Italian regional peasant art and the traditional Neapolitan folk dance of the same name.
Reflecting the dominant religious subjects of the Italian history, each rug is named after a Saint.
Maintaining a discreet approach to pattern and colour, the Tarantella rug collection builds on Ikat, Geometric and Crop Circle collections and provides complete control over size, colour and weave.
The collection is bespoke and hand-knotted to order with each rug using different varieties of silk and linen to absorb coloured dyes differently to provide depth and pattern and also ensure that no two rugs are same.
Irwin will exhibit the collection at Decorex International 2013, ahead of its plans to open a new showroom in New York in 2014.
