The Babylon collection by Luke Irwin is a selection of beautiful rugs, which are made using the aquasilk technique, which uses five different varieties of silk by dipping them in dye. Because of the varied texture of the silk, each silk picks up the colour in a different way and presents the end material in a slightly different shade.
The Babylon collection includes different varieties of rugs, named as Arcadia, Baalbek, Babylon, Eden I & Eden II, Enoch, Euphrates, Nimrod, Nineveh, Parthia, Persepolis, San Marco, Shushan, and Tigris.
Made of wool, silk and cashmere, the Babylon collection of rugs are hand knotted rugs, which are available in varieties of sizes and colours. The price of the Babylon collection starts at £1,250 ($1, 987) per square metre.
