The new hospital will be located near a highway bypass in Madison, and will be a one-storey building. It will accommodate 22 licensed inpatient beds, ancillary medical services, support services and medical clinic, among other amenities.
The new hospital will also be built as an energy-efficient structure that will be built to meet health care codes.
The USDA has awarded funds under its Community Facilities Direct Loan Program. The hospital has also secured $10 million Rural Development Guarantee from AgStar, $1.3 million loan from Heartland Consumer Power District, $300,000 loan from Sioux Valley Energy, and $480,000 loan from Sioux Valley Energy’s Revolving Loan Fund.
