The MTD 09HPWH/1 heat pump condenser tumble dryer features a clever design and high-end technology. Advanced heat pump technology constitutes the engine room of this ‘A-50%’ rated model, with the model saving 50% on energy consumption compared to an A-class model. The 9kg drum capacity not only dries large loads but relieves creasing and tangling too.
Traditionally, dryers blow hot and dry air into the drum to dry clothes quickly and conventionally. The Maytag condenser dryer, with heat pump technology, uses compressed gas to generate heat, similar to a refrigeration system. This method not only dries clothes more gently, thus avoiding shrinkage and distortion of garments, but also claims to use considerably less energy than a conventional dryer.
Maytag Intellisense sensor technology measures the level of humidity within the drum and controls and adjusts the temperature accordingly, preventing over-drying. The dryer’s 600mm heat pump condenser model has been styled in white with chrome-coloured trim. It features 14 programmes including mixed load, big items, duvet, delicate, silk, wool, airing, auto-cool down and automatic anti-crease programme. The reverse tumble action is adapted to each load. Additional options include selection of ‘finish on time’ for up to 24 hours.
The dryer also has an attractive LED display which offers feedback on the machine’s progress. Additional features include; interior light, key lock system, fluff filter and water full indicators. It has a large porthole of 380mm diameter and 140°door opening.
