Originally built in the 1930s as accommodation for officers from the Metropolitan Police, Maurice Drummond House was transformed into the Mercure London Greenwich, part of the famous Mercure hotel brand. Designed by Assael Architecture, the hotel recently opened in Greenwich.
Ahmarra Door Solutions were selected to supply doorsets to the new boutique hotel’s bedrooms and corridors. The doors were FD30 and FD60 fire rated and supplied in FSC American White Oak stained to lend a wenge veneer effect. Ahmarra also manufactured the hotel’s high gloss, black panelled entrance doors which feature an ornate circle design with bronze door ring knockers.
The nine-storey Mercure London Greenwich offers 145 spacious bedrooms, a stylish basement restaurant, and ground floor bar. The project involved careful restoration of original Terrazzo floors with timber paneling and elegant chandeliers. The colour palette of the entire scheme is a simple black, grey, white and cream with fabric wall panels.
Rees Mellish Ltd. was the principal contractor for the £7.5 million ($11.3 million) project, which was carried out for Periquin Limited.
