The three-story Legacy Inn houses 100 rooms and more than 3,000 square feet of meeting space with three break away conference rooms. The tan, gold and red building of the hotel features protruding wooden beams that blends with the natural colors of the area.
The hotel lobby features a three-story stone fireplace that stair-steps upward in a style similar to the Hopi pueblos. Hopi pottery and katsinas are showcased in its wall niches along with a colorful ceramic piece depicting two Hopi katsinas holding a replica of the world. The interiors of the hotel feature full-length carpets adorned with traditional designs. The swimming pool features a turtle design at the bottom, symbolic of the Hopi turtle, which is associated with water.
The hotel’s logo, above the lobby desk, is a large stained glass piece designed by Antone Honahni, featuring a kiva chief praying at dawn. Four ears of colored corn are showcased in the design. The interiors are adorned with large black-and-white photographs from 1900, depicting traditional Hopi life.
The hotel also features a small store selling Hopi art and jewelry. The store carries traditional items needed by the Hopi in their ceremonies such as painted gourds, rattles, animal skins, bandoliers and moccasins.
The hotel is located on the south side of U.S. 160 on Hopi lands, and the town of Tuba City on the north side of the highway on Navajo lands. These conjoined towns are governed by separate entities and falls in different time zones.
