The building houses an innovative education and business environment, where ambitious start-up entrepreneurs work door-to-door with students sharing strong international relations. The building’s dynamic activity is expressed via the green main stairway, which spirals between the stories.

On the facade, the movement is seen in the glazing strips that stretch towards the sky across the six stories of the building. The stairway form also has the practical advantage of allowing a necessary fire escape route to be cut through the building.

The complex spans 8000 square meter over seven floors, and the entire building is rated as low-energy class I – an innovative achievement in itself for an office building. The low level of energy consumption is achieved through installation of highly insulating windows and extra insulation on the building’s external surfaces. Another feature is the building’s intelligent air conditioning system, which adjusts itself according to the number of people present in each room.

The Vitus Bering Innovation Park has been developed in cooperation with the owner VIA University College and Energy Horsens, as well as the Municipality and Commercial Council of Horsens. The inauguration will take place on March 1, 2010.
