The new project consists of multiple TEMF facilities totaling 120,593 square feet. Shop A is a multi-purpose facility with 62 vehicle repair areas, and 44 vehicle maintenance areas. Shop B is a mission support building that includes a major machine shop.

The overall project also includes vehicle paint and preparation building, organizational storage building, oil storage building and a large fueling area. The various buildings include space for TIG and plasma welding, engine/transmission testing, training, administrative areas, weapons storage vaults, organizational vehicle parking and extensive site improvements. The project will be designed to LEED Silver certification.

Fort Benning is located outside the city of Columbus, Georgia, approximately 110 miles southwest of Atlanta. This is Mortenson’s first project at Fort Benning which is home to the Army’s Infantry Center, Ranger School, Airborne School and School of the Americas.
