British architect Adjaye Associates has designed the facility to represent the school’s independent teaching methodologies.

The central disc is a distinct architectural element of the new Moscow School of Management where suites of teaching spaces, a congress center, and support facilities form an internal cityscape bounded by a circular enclosure. This unique arrangement is implemented to promote openness, cohesion and an absence of hierarchy. Design functionality was considered as a key requirement while implementing the project.

Deeply impressed by the ideas of the Russian artist Kazimir Malevich, Adjaye proposed his own architectural vision of Malevich’s masterpieces. The design of Skolkovo’s building, created in the spirit of Malevich’s paintings, aims on the one hand to stress the idea of the interpenetration of Russian and world culture, and on the other, to show the innovative and even futuristic character of the school.

Moscow School of Management is a joint project by major Russian and international business leaders who pooled their efforts to create from the scratch a world-class business school in Russia.
