Replacing the city’s existing Mosaic Stadium, which is the home of the Saskatchewan Roughriders Football Club, the new stadium will accommodate 33,000 spectators.

Built in 1910, the Mosaic Stadium is one of the oldest buildings in the Canadian Football League and has been renovated several times. The new design of the stadium exhibits a sunken-bowl style. Providing maximum comfort, the stadium is designed to be used for longer periods.

The stadium’s design also includes an innovative roof, which will protect fans from the weather while still being an open-air facility. Canada-based P3A architectural firm and Pattern Design will provide architectural solutions to tune the stadium roof to the local environmental conditions.

Construction of the stadium will begin in late 2013, with completion expected in 2017. Mott MacDonald was hired by the city of Regina in June 2012 to provide engineering, architectural and public private partnership advisory services for the project.
