Mumbai International Airport Pvt. Ltd. (MIAL), a joint venture company owned by the GVK led consortium (74%) and Airports Authority of India (26%) was formed in March 2006 to manage and develop CSIA.

The new Terminal IC building includes space for a four or five star hotel, which will be built with an initial capacity of 92 rooms with the option of expanding it if needed.

The new IC terminal is being built to accommodate the rising domestic flight operations in the suburb of Santacruz, where the international airport is located. It will include a centralized domestic to international transfer lounge, and additional passenger facilities, with the Terminal 1C hotel being built within the building premises.

A common use terminal has also been proposed for both domestic and international flights and will be located at Sahar, and is estimated to be complete by end of 2012.

The winning hotel company that will develop and operate the hotel will pay MIAL concession fee, to be determined as a certain percentage of revenue arising from running the hotel or a minimum annual guarantee amount to the airport authorities.

GVK, based in the south Indian city of Hyderabad, India, is a diversified business entity with a predominant focus on Infrastructure and Urban Infrastructure projects. It also has a significant presence in the hospitality, services and manufacturing sector.
