Sprawling over an approximately 90-acres site along State Highway 121 in The Colony, the new store will be a 560,000 square feet facility, which will be spread over two levels. The project also involves development of a 1.3 million square-foot distribution centre, which will sit alongside the store.
Scheduled for opening in 2015, the store will showcase more than 160,000 items, which will consist of electronics and homes appliances. The store will be the largest store by the brand in the US. Construction on the scheme will be undertaken by US-based Turner Construction Company.
The project is expected to create about 2,000 jobs in the region. It forms part of a larger $1.5 billion retail and entertainment centre development, which will be developed over a 433-acres site in The Colony.
