Perhaps best known as the designer of one of London’s most iconic skyscrapers, the Gherkin, British architect Norman Foster has also destined everything from hotels and airports to space ports and even a concept for a settlement on the moon.

Now a new book examines fifty of Foster’s works and projects developed in the 21st century, including Trafalgar Square Redevelopment in London, the Free University Library in Berlin, Hearst Tower in New York and the Beijing International Airport.
Published by Madrid-based Arquitectura Viva , Foster in the 21st Century is the third in a series of monographs to focus on the architect’s work.

Produced in close collaboration with the Foster and his practice Foster + Partners, the monograph begins with an extensive essay in which Norman Foster takes stock of this influences, and continues with an article by Luis Fernández-Galiano. Structured in eight thematic groups, the index list includes noteworthy works including Spaceport America in New Mexico, and recent projects such as Châteaux Margaux in Bordeaux, the new Apple Campus in Cupertino and Forster’s recent studies for the construction of lunar settlements.
