Located at the corner of 45th Avenue and Colfax Street, the $2.9 million library comprises 15,000 square feet of space and is bigger than both the former Griffith and 41st Avenue branches, combined.
The branch features more and larger meeting areas and an outside patio area for programs. Paying importance to modern technology, the building is equipped with free wireless Internet, which will benefit local residents. The new library also fits in well with Griffith’s recent revitalisation effort, which included a rebuilt Broad Avenue through downtown and new landscaping.
The new branch opened its doors to the public on 28 March 2013.
