Sadha aims at bringing the beach indoors with its design for Allegria Hotel & Spa, which features rooftop view of New York City.
Located on the ocean front, the resort becomes an extension of the surf and sand. The resort is connected to the beach through a tunnel that runs from the street level of the hotel to the sand, enclosed in foliage to provide visitors with a sense of entering a lush garden.
With a classic contemporary structure, every space of the hotel will be injected with reflections of the surrounding marine life. Materials like limestone and wood, and an earthen color palette, as well as a spectrum of blues accentuate the sea and its surroundings.
A glass wall defines the interiors, while a glass staircase leads to the adjoining boardwalk. The staircase will be filled with water, imparting the visitors with the feeling of walking on water.
The lobby’s polished ceiling lends it an illusion of height, while the cocoon lounge provides seating in the area. Sculptured light fixtures add elegance to the ambiance.
The guest rooms will also be transformed using materials that will be layered against the white upholstered walls. Juliet style balconies allow the sea breezes to ventilate the room. Each room will include a closet that separates the bed from bath, and is fitted with sliding doors to enable access from both areas. The baths will further provide a view of the ocean when the closet is opened.
Its 31 suites have a number of windows and a living and dining area, with the looks of a summer cottage. Finished in limestone, the bathrooms will integrate a separate bathtub and spa shower, an LCD TV embedded behind a vanity mirror and double sinks.
The resort’s restaurant Atlantica will feature small pockets of tables spread across the space creating an intimate ambiance. Wide wooden floor planks and the French floor-to-ceiling doors further bring in the beach.
Color changing fiber-optic light fixtures that resemble jellyfish will float overhead to create an underwater experience. The under–the-sea experience is accentuated by the framed mirrors on the walls that reflect the sea and provide a view of the ocean from different seats.
The L’Onda lounge is encompassed by floor-to-ceiling windows overlooking the shore. A double-sided fireplace and circular bar fitted with glass mosaics and a private wine cellar and dining room will also be available, with an exclusive chef’s table with seating for 16 to 18 guests.
The ballroom will seat up to 200 people and feature multiple length drum shade light fixtures that hang from varying heights, and a three-dimensional mural composed of velvet boxes mounted on different levels.
