The designer roots the inspiration for the new dining chair to the veneer technique called Bunaco, which was coined in Japan. Anna Stepankova has used the traditional method of making in an innovative way to deliver contemporary product.
The technique involves using tightly wound strips of thin veneer that are carefully pushed out to create objects. The designer has used a wound beech wood veneer for creating the Tamashii Chair which lends it a natural wood colour.
The product adds to the aesthetics of any place by giving it a modern twist.
