Pursuant to the contract, the company will design and rebuild a primary school and 80 residential units in North West London. The new school building on the site of the existing school will consist of a new foundation stage building for the school, primary learning support services, a primary pupil referral unit and a community learning centre.

The new school will accommodate a new hall, more comfortable classrooms, and better circulation and improved IT networks. Apart from that a playground and landscaping work for the school are also included in the project.

The residential part of the development includes construction of a separate eight storied residential block and three-levels of residential units will be built above the new school buildings. The project will take the total number of private apartments to 70. Ten affordable houses will provided as part of the contract.

Additional work involves remodeling of the existing Victorian school building including installation of a new lift to improve accessibility. Demolition of the existing buildings has been completed and the school has moved to a temporary facility.

The project will incorporate a host of sustainable elements, which includes a combined heat and power plant, photovoltaic cells and natural ventilation system. It will help the scheme to achieve BREEAM Excellent rating.

The project is being developed by the local education partnership for Camden, as part of the borough’s Community Investment Programme. Construction work has commenced on the site and the project is scheduled to complete in December 2014.
