The store, which comes in place of the Barnes & Noble store at 3670 28th Street that will close, will stock close to 200,000 book, music, DVDs, and magazine titles, and include a café serving Starbucks coffee. The special features will include a B&N@School section with educational tools for parents, teachers and librarians, and an expanded gift section.

The new store will feature the Barnes & Noble Membership Program, designed for Barnes & Noble’s best customers, which gives members 40% off hardcover fiction and nonfiction bestsellers, 20% off all other adult hardcover books, and 10% off virtually everything else in Barnes & Noble stores and online at Barnes & Noble.com. The annual fee is $25.

The store will also offer rapid special-order service to enable booksellers to order and confirm the availability of over one million titles at the click of a button, large scale children’s department – Barnes & Noble Jr., with more than 15,000 titles in an easy-to-browse environment, advanced technology movie, audio book and music-previewing system, RedDotNet – a listening and previewing technology that enables customers to preview select DVDs, Blu-ray Discs, audio books or CDs in the store, sampling a title by simply passing it under a scanner.

The store will have a giant newsstand, complimentary WiFi service, and will serve as a local community center, hosting a number of community events throughout the year, including author readings and discussions, book clubs and programs with local literary and cultural organizations.

The Barnes & Noble store at Woodland Mall will be open from 9am to 11pm on Monday to Saturday, and from 9am to 9pm on Sunday.
