The facility, originally constructed in 1965, is the second largest building in Chattanooga to secure LEED Gold certification. It incorporates a host of eco-friendly elements such as a 198.24 kilowatt photovoltaic solar array which accounts for 40% of the power of the building.

The design of the building optimises natural light penetration in work spaces, thereby reaping energy cost cuts. It has also been equipped with high-performance heating and air systems.

The facility imbibes an advanced water control system which includes natural storm water filters capable of entirely phasing out pollutants from runoff. It has also been equipped with induction lighting fixtures in the parking areas which have been procured via local sources.

Use of low VOC interior adhesives, sealants, carpets and paint adds to the sustainability by upgrading the quality of air. Other green features include reclaiming 96% of the current walls, floors and roof during revamp work, and recycling about 500 tonnes of construction waste.
