The kitchen in a farmhouse featured broken cabinets, old appliances and a bathroom that opened up to the cooking area. Candice Olson gave a new look to the space by blending traditional and modern touches, and by using contrasting colors. She reconfigured the space and redesigned the kitchen, home office and dog lounge.

Olson removed the unnecessary walls and eliminated bathroom and cabinetry. Windows that lead to the patio have been replaced with French doors. Perfect paint color selection and heated travertine floor tiles have helped in making the space bright.

The kitchen is equipped with center kitchen island that houses recycling unit, dishwasher and sink. The island can double as a dining space. The kitchen now features cream-colored cabinetry, quartz counters and stainless appliances. A bar area, wine cooler, built-in coffee maker and fridge/freezer column have been added to the kitchen. A pantry and counter space is created at the rear of kitchen. Hip reflective silver foil wallpaper is featured in the office area. Office shelf features hidden task lights, and the desk is designed to provide shelter for pet dogs.
