The move has been taken to share best practice, ranging from crowd control to corporate social responsibility. The Healthy Stadia Network was launched in September 2009. It is funded by the European Union and fully endorsed by Union des Associations Européennes de Footbal (Uefa), the governing football association.
Networking would be done in areas such as healthy catering, efficient energy use, environmental strategies, transportation set-ups and also combating racism at sporting events.
The network also has other sporting and community organizations that range from Heart of Mersey in the Liverpool area and the Medical University of Lodz, Poland, to the International Sport Association of Finland.
