Peter Taves, a resident of Daytona Beach in Florida has initiated the renovation work of the yacht.
The 72 feet long luxury cruiser features grand piano and fireplace in the main saloon, the fine wicker furniture on the aft deck, and the staterooms below deck, says Taves.
Powered by twin GM 671 diesel engines-165 hp each, the interior of the yacht feature imported white oak and mahogany from stem to stern.
Renovations to the yacht include new color schemes in gray instead of the original black to reduce interior sweating. The yacht has also received updated water and electrical systems, new vacu-pressure toilets, and air conditioning.
The improvements to the interior space are underway. The staterooms are all being reconstructed converting it into a spacious master stateroom and closet space.
Las Tango was built in 1956, at the Camden Dory Ship Building Co. as a luxury cruiser for the US Navy. It has been known by many names – The Ritz, The Dragon, Victory, Varamista, Annapolis and Admiral Blake, to name a few.
