The facility is seeking LEED certification from the U.S. Green Building Council. The green features of the facility include energy-efficient roofing materials and colors with a high solar reflecting index; continuous building insulation and high-performance glass; environmentally friendly concrete to reduce heat absorption; on-site recycling center for customer and employee use; high efficiency plumbing fixtures and a drip irrigation system; and low volatile organic compound interior finishes, fixtures and furniture.
On receiving the certification, the Camp Bowie facility will be the second LEED-certified location of the Comerica Bank in the Tarrant County. The bank’s first LEED-certified location was opened in August 2009 in Fossil Creek.
