The redevelopment work on the Ravenhill Rugby ground site will increase the capacity of the stadium from 11,400 to 18,000. The new Memorial End stand will provide seating arrangement for 2,400 spectators with terracing for a further 1,350. The site will also feature ticket office, shop and bar, and catering facilities.

The Aquinas stand, featuring the family area of the ground, will be able to accommodate a capacity of 2,100 seats with terracing for an additional 1,300 fans. It will also become the Ulster squad’s new training base with a gym and meeting rooms. There will be 3,450 seats at the new main grandstand, and an upgraded promenade which will be able to accommodate 3,400 fans.

The new stands will be completed by June 2013. The construction work will start from 26 November 2012 and is likely to finish by summer 2014. The project will also receive a government grant of £14.7 million ($23.33 million apprx.).
