Designed to reflect the Academy’s specialisms of digital technology and computing and vocational education, the new building will cater for up to 1,250 pupils.
To promote social interaction and increase motivation, the bespoke design of the Gloucester Academy features a two-storey 950 square metre heart space at its centre, which forms the focal point for the school, creating a light and airy environment.
Work began on the Cotteswold Road site on July 2012 and it is scheduled to complete for the new academic year in September 2013.
