The renovations were in line with Marriott’s commitment to provide comfortable and flexible areas for guests. The hotel has completely re-imagined its lobby built around The Bistro. The new, café-style restaurant features flexible seating and strategically placed flat-screen TVs. A communal table is featured in the centre where families or small business groups can gather. The space also features comfortable seating at additional tables. A 24-hour market can be seen at the restaurant which offers quick snacks and toiletries for guests.
The lobby now includes semi-private welcome pedestals that have replaced the traditional desk. This trend is in-line with all Marriott hotels across the US, and allows staff members to provide personalised attention during the check-in and check-out processes. Media pods along the perimeter of the welcome center sport flat-screen TVs and personal remotes.
An interactive GoBoard, 52-inch LCD touch-screen TV is featured in the lobby, which allows guests to get driving directions and things to do in and around Hampton, track weather information for any city and check out flight information from Norfolk International or other regional airports. A separate Boarding Pass Station allows visitors to print boarding passes for more convenient traveling, while a comfortable home theatre encourages groups to gather for a viewing of the latest movies.
The Hampton hotel has also completely restyled its 135 rooms and 11 suites. New luxurious bedding on one king or two queen-sized mattresses features cotton-rich sheets, custom comforters and pillows. The rooms also offer mini-refrigerators, pull-out sofa beds, large desks with ergonomic chairs, irons and ironing boards, coffeemakers, 37-inch TVs and Paul Mitchell products in spacious bathrooms.
