Curtis will be the world’s first airport architect to receive this highest award for public architecture at the 2010 AIA National Convention to be held at Miami Beach National Convention center from June 10-12, 2010.

The Thomas Jefferson Awards for Public Architecture, named after the nation’s third president and author of the Declaration of Independence recognizes achievements of private-sector architects who have established a portfolio of accomplishment in the design of architecturally distinguished public facilities; public-sector architects who manage or produce quality design within their agencies; and public officials or other individuals who by their role of advocacy have furthered the public’s awareness and/or appreciation of design excellence.
