This is the first of two Minute Suites Centres planned for the airport, with another expected to come up at Terminal A. The new nap centre is located at Terminal D near gate D23 and offers passengers a serene location to relax, conduct business or sleep in a private suite available by the hour.

The nap centre features nine sleep suites and two shower facilities. Each suite has been designed to offer utmost privacy and is equipped with a daybed sofa that features two sleeping surfaces with fresh pillows and blankets. Each room also features a high-definition television with access to DIRECTV, the Internet, a desk, closet with hangers, individual thermostats, and flight-tracking information.

There is also a sound-masking system in each suite to neutralise noise levels. A unique NAP26 audio program is available at the suites which claim to deliver the equivalent of three hours of sleep in only 26 minutes.

Suites are priced at $34 for a one-hour minimum stay and then $8.50 for every 15 minutes thereafter.

Minute Suites program was developed as a wellness-based solution to counter the stress and fatigue caused by air travel. The program lays a special emphasis on sleep physiology and engineered the concept of a secure, dark and quiet environment to encourage napping. The team also developed the use of binaural beat audio technology as a sleep aid for travelers.

With this new nap centre, Dallas/Fort Worth Airport has become the third airport in the US to incorporate the concept. Atlanta Hartsfield-Jackson International and Philadelphia International already feature Minute Suites Centers.
