Dame Vivienne Westwood will be designing the entrance to the show for this year, which is a most sought after commission. Another attraction will be the architect and interior designer Rabih Hage’s champagne bar. His designs for the bar promise to be full of humour along with a colour scheme that will be champagne-inspired.
Designer Christopher Guy will also be creating a show feature, inspired by Decorex’s show theme for 2012, honoring iconic moments, key design pieces and inspiring people.
Fromental, manufacturer of handmade wallpapers and fabrics, will be taking two stands this year to launch new ranges. The first stand will display their new wallpaper collections, while the other would be transformed into a studio where Master Wang has been invited from China to produce a set of panels to be auctioned off for charity.
Regina Heinz will be exhibiting her first solo collection of hand-painted three-dimensional ceramic tiles. Produced in her South London studio, the collection comprises two ranges, “Flow” and “Cityscape”, both inspired by natural forms which can be used both in public spaces and domestic settings.
Contemporary furniture maker Benchmark will be showcasing a reissued armchair design by American designer Jens Risom. The oak and walnut low armchair will join the collection of nine other Risom pieces that are being launched by Benchmark. Meanwhile Beaudesert have used new print technology to create a bold wallpaper collage using photographs taken by fashion photographer Cecil Beaton.
Decorex will also be supporting fresh new talent exhibiting for the first time as part of the crafted mentoring programme. Each year, 12 craft business entrepreneurs are chosen to be mentored by leaders from the luxury sector to help grow their businesses. This year, the chosen designers are glass designers Rothschild & Bickers, ceramicist Sasha Wardell, luxury embroidered textiles by Charlene Mullen, contemporary silversmith Angela Cork and contemporary furniture maker Angus Ross.
First time exhibitors, The Royal Warrant Holders Association have enlisted the support of interior designer, and fellow Royal Warrant Holder, Mikhail Pietranerk to design their stand, which will look at royal interiors and traditional style through modern eyes. Exhibiting as part of this group are Veritas Gifts, Thomas Restorations, Weldon Contracts, Wilkinson PL and NEJ Stevenson.
Crafted lampshades will also be exhibiting for the first time. All the fabrics are carefully selected from India, Italy and China. French designers, Corita Rose will be showcasing some of their designs in the form of upholstered furniture and furnishings. French cabinetmaker, Moissonnier, will bring their avant-garde furniture designs. Portugal-based Serip will display their new collections of contemporary lighting.
