DNA ART UK, launched in May 2007, is a specialist maker of custom/one off pieces of art using human DNA. From the sample of a client’s DNA (deoxyribonucleic acid), the company creates unique self-portraits.
These self-portraits from personal DNAs have now effectively been zoomed up or magnified, and the enhanced range is known as ‘DNA Vision Zoom’. The company has added five new colour styles to this range, besides the existing 20 shades. The new DNA Vision Zoom ranges display the visual representation of DNA bands, just like the standard range. But as opposed to displaying genes over 10 lanes they take a snapshot of standard image and magnify the genes over five lanes.
These totally bespoke DNA Art portraits can be placed in any space such as living rooms or bedrooms to brighten and enhance it in a unique way.
The portraits can be printed on canvas, perspex and metal. Prices start from £295 ($464) up to £1195 ($1882).
