The new headquarters of the company is a multi-use facility which includes both office as well as research and development centre and a data centre.

To achieve LEED Certification, the old facility was retro-commissioned with several sustainable practices implemented, which translated into savings of up to 25% in the operating budget of the company. To make the building sustainable, attention was also paid on the building’s water consumption, power usage, material usage and indoor environment quality.

The sustainable initiates launched at the headquarters consisted of usage of sensor enabled water fixtures to hydrate the landscape; use of LED lights for exterior lighting and installation of light meters to monitor energy usage. The company has also reduced lighting in certain affluently illuminated spaces.

DPS has also converted few portions as landscaped areas that feature native /adaptive plant life which prevent soil erosion and improve pest management. The company collaborated with its IT department, and has installed low-emitting energy equipment throughout the facility. All laptops on the property are Energy Star rated.

Initiatives were also taken to improve the indoor environment. The company uses only green products for cleaning purposes.

The headquarters has also secured an EPA Energy Star rating in 2011, which recognised its efforts since 2008 to minimise energy use each year. In a time-frame of three years since 2008, DPS has reduced power consumption by 3.2 million kWh.
