Designed by Missouri-based M & H Architecture, the cargo building’s design follows energy-efficient and environmentally sustainable principles. More than 90% of the construction waste has been reused or recycled, helping the building to reduce energy use by 17%.

The $3.1 million building was funded by Federal Aviation Administration (FAA) grant, ConnectOregon grant and other Eugene Airport funds.

The air cargo building’s green certification marks the first LEED-certified project for the City of Eugene. Owned and operated by the City of Eugene, it is the fifth-largest airport in the Pacific Northwest, providing commercial air service to a six-county region in mid-Oregon.
