The facade work is considered to be the first milestone in the Mausert Block renovation. The new timber-built storefront on the Park Street will incorporate new signage, and lighting as well as energy-efficient glazing. It will also demolish architectural barriers to ease access of specially-abled persons.

The renovation project is a part of the larger redevelopment of the former Woolworth building. It will involve refurbishment of four retail units into six distinct retail areas ranging from 464 square feet up to 2,100 square feet consisting of new entrances and storefronts.

The rear of the former Woolworth store at 19 Park St. entrance will be converted into a retail unit with an arcade connecting new storefronts on Armory Court. It will also comprise internal fire stairs along with 18 vacant apartments to be converted into 10, two-bedroom apartments for rent.

Renovation work will be carried out by REDPM who will present the final facade design before the public bidding process.
