The new building, in addition to offering an innovative and contemporary office space, is also notable for its sustainable practices. The green elements of the building comprises a FSC-certified timber frame, geothermal heating and cooling, and a south-facing atrium with a double-skinned facade.
The building has an orientation towards the east and west, and has a faacde of glass in the south. It features a double-skinned envelope, which in conjunction with the natural ventilation, aids in minimising heat gains and maintaining a comfortable environment inside.
The eastern and western facade of the building has been made using translucent metal panels, which reduces glare from the morning and evening sun. The north side has fewer windows, which increases insulation of the building and prevents heat loss. All these together enables the building to reap maximum benefits of the natural light.
The main work areas are arranged at the northern side of the building, which enjoys more indirect sunlight, while the southern side of the building have interactive spaces for socialising and meetings. The beauty of the building has been enhanced by landscaped garden, which surrounds the entire building.
The building uses geothermal system to provide heating and cooling. The headquarters have radiant floors that circulate warm water to provide heat, while a coolant flows through chilled beams to reduce the temperature when it is too warm.
