First held in 2005, MOVE IT now attracts over 20,000 dance fans every year. As well sponsoring the event, Harlequin supplied its Harlequin LIBERTY and Harlequin CASCADE floors for the main stage – hosting spectacular performances by some of the UK’s most exciting artists from Britain’s Got Talent’s Twist and Pulse to Olivier Award winning Boy Blue Entertainment.

Throughout the weekend, members of the Harlequin Floors team were also on hand to offer expert advice and guidance on dance floor technology. And when the company’s Mark Rasmussen took part in one of the healthier dancer talks on the Move It Interview Sofa – it proved a highlight of the weekend for many.

The session – ‘How to keep dancing longer and stronger’ with Helen Laws, National Institute for Dance Medicine and Science manager, and Group Marketing Manager for Harlequin Floors, Mark Rasmussen – gave a valuable insight into safe dance practice, the importance of the dance studio environment and how to have a long and healthy dance career.

First held in London less than ten years ago, MOVE IT continues to offer dance students, teachers, professionals and anyone with a passion for dance the opportunity to watch performances, take classes and interact with experts whilst sharing the experience with thousands of like-minded dance fans.

MOVE IT 2013 proved to be the event’s most successful year yet. Held as part of a major sponsorship agreement with world leaders in dance floor technology Harlequin Floors, it continues to offer dancers, teachers and professionals the unique opportunity to interact with dance enthusiasts from all over the UK.
