Formerly Kyoto Grand Hotel and Gardens, the new hotel is undergoing renovation and has been rebranded as a DoubleTree. The look and feel of the renovated areas captures the dynamic energy and essence of downtown Los Angeles through contemporary design elements and vibrant colour combinations set amidst a rich palette of natural wood tones and textures.
The hotel debuts the rooftop garden named Kyoto Gardens, its signature outdoor event and meeting space spread over half-acre which features Japanese-inspired designs. The gardens also offers one of the most stunning views of the downtown Los Angeles skyline.
The renovation project involved restoration of all the 434 guestrooms and suites, public spaces and corridors, indoor and outdoor meeting and event spaces, business and fitness centers, to make those in congruent with the DoubleTree anthem.
All the guest rooms feature new carpeting, 42” flat screen LCD televisions, work desks and chairs, and high-speed internet access. The rooms also feature soothing earth tones in new carpet and wall treatments. Significant updates to guest bathrooms include new wall treatments, granite countertops, custom-made vanity tables, and Crabtree & Evelyn Citron bath and body products.
The contemporary Azalea Restaurant of the hotel has been redesigned to feature Asian-inspired California cuisine based on locally sourced and seasonal foods.
The DoubleTree by Hilton Downtown Los Angeles boasts of 15,000 square feet of conference space for conventions, business meetings, banquets, and social events. This includes 4,212 square feet meeting room which has a capacity of 650 guests. The hotel also offers a 24-hour self-service business center and state-of-the-art fitness facility, and Azalea Restaurant, and Rendezvous Lounge.
