Scope of the project involves development of a 60,000 square feet building on the north of the Wilfred Uytengsu Sr. Centre on the campus of the college. The new building will consist of an academic wing with classroom space and a library wing.

The two wings will converge at a rotunda, the socialising space of the college. The rotunda will include a café, and space for art exhibitions, a two-storey multi-flex auditorium and theater that will be used for performances, presentations, seminars, and lectures.

Spread over two-stories, the academic wing will have an unfinished lower level, which will be available for potential developments. It will have multimedia equipped classrooms and laboratories for the School of Education and the Center for Criminal Sciences, and will house Indiana Tech’s College of General Studies. The other facilities at the academic wing will consist of student study rooms and offices for the vice president for academic affairs and the dean and faculty of the College of General Studies.

The double storied library wing will have two computer facilities, technically enhanced spaces for collaborative research and learning with a multi-functional seminar room for instruction, faculty development and video conferencing with satellite campuses. The wing will also accommodate group and individual study rooms, space for traditional print media and offices for the library director and staff.

Construction on the scheme will be undertaken by Michael Kinder & Sons, and is scheduled to commence in May 2013. It will span for 18 months. The new facility is scheduled to open in January 2015.
