Scheduled to take 21 weeks to complete, the upgrade programme will reconfigure the ground floor accommodation to maximise the available space, avoiding the need to construct a new extension, upgrading the laboratory to the latest clinical standards and specifications to provide enhanced service.
To be developed in three-phases, the project will strip out the ground floor with the installation of partitions to remodel the space along with new ceilings, floors and decoration throughout. The project also includes the creation of a new internal plant room.
Replacing the existing services, the upgrade will install modern, efficient mechanical and electrical systems. Other upgrades to the scheme includes a complete fit out of all areas including offices, laboratory and testing areas, and patient consultation rooms.
During the upgrade the building will be operational with office, laboratory and clinical staff decanting to completed areas of the building as each section is delivered.
