At 3.5m high and weighing two tonnes, the Guinness Monument ‘pint’ celebrates the company’s advertising campaigns and symbols associated with the Irish brand, while celebrating the craft of preparing a pint of Guinness. The collaboration between 10 multidisciplinary artist studios sees emblematic wood carvings adorning the ash body of the giant pint glass, which is crowned by Jason Bruges Studio’s fabric-based cloud-like head.
Jason Bruges Studio worked with textile designer Elena Corchero to build the lightweight, airtight fabric structure, animated by internal fans to convey the dancing movement of bubbles in the head of a real pint of Guinness. LED lighting, reflective hanging materials and the fans help create the visual effect of movement.
