Highfields & Penn Fields School required a robust, cost effective, and stackable seating solution for its student’s chairs. The flexible furniture from KI is designed to support and encourage learner led activity, such as group work, group discussions and learner presentations apart from teacher led activities for larger groups.
The single piece moulding of Postura+ range ensures that there are no fixings to loosen over time. The chair is light weight which makes for ease of stacking. The chair also provides ergonomic support.
KI’s Postura+ range of seven sizes of stackable chairs are available in a variety of colours and are manufactured in the UK. Moulded from high impact resistant polypropylene, Postura+ is said to be strong, durable and light, enabling the safe vertical stacking of 12 chairs. The lower back lumbar design ensures perfect ergonomics whilst the graduating seat curve supports ‘perch’ and ‘full’ sitting positions. The unique waterfall edge of the seat provides comfort while the angled back legs prevent the chair from rocking or slipping and will not twist or distort.
Postura+ is fully BS EN1729 certified in all seven sizes, with Crib 5 high fire retardancy and has a 10 years warranty. The chair is anti static and stain resistant, helping it to stay cleaner for longer.
The design creates an all new school campus by relocating Highfields Science Specialist School with Penn Fields Special Needs School to share learning, sport and recreation resources. In addition, the design intelligently organises the campus to minimise impact on the Green Belt whilst maximising views of the landscape setting.
