The project involves development of four new homes, which will be located just off Main Street of Haltwhistle. The residents will enjoy panoramic views of the countryside from their homes. Each of the homes have classical Roman name.
The executive detached homes, as a standard, will have four bedrooms and a separate study which can double as a fifth bedroom. The homes will be constructed using locally sourced materials, which will assist in blending the homes with the natural environment of the place.
The largest of the four is The Cilurnum, which will be a three-tier home, spanning 2,410 square feet. The house will also include a garden room and large utility room at basement level. Overlooking the Tyne Valley, the house will have kitchen/breakfast room, family area, dining room and living room surrounding a large central hall. The upper floors will have four bedrooms, consisting of master bedroom complete with a dressing room and en-suite bath. Two other rooms will also have en-suite facilities.
The smallest of the four will be Pons Aelius that will span 1,550 square feet. The homes will have a large fully fitted kitchen/breakfast area together with a utility room, separate dining room and living room as well as a large garage at ground floor level. The layout of the home reflects imaginative and thoughtful design.
Construction on the scheme is scheduled for completion by December 2012.
