The building received new lighting, masonry repair, new concrete, and a steel fence on the back side of the shelter as part of the renovation which took 700 man hours.

The renovation project, which lasted close to five years, was a part of WSNC’s spring project. The club donated $20,000 to the project. The shelter will be available for zoo goers and golfers to picnic in or relax.

WSNC was established in 1921 by a small group of businessmen and merchants to promote the west side of Evansville. The Mesker Mall shelter will be open from April through October.
