The Mississippi Coast Coliseum and Convention Center is a fully flexible facility, located on one level. The ribbon cutting ceremony of the renovated facility was held on 17 August 2010. The facility features 400,000 square feet of meeting and convention space and new offices of the Harrison County Tourism Commission.

The existing convention centre has been completely remodelled, and an expansion has been built along with a parking garage. The coliseum features new doors and windows, a new electronic scoreboard, restrooms, security and concession stands. The kitchen at the convention centre has been expanded and rebuilt and the exterior lighting, parking lots and landscaping are redone. A 977ft-long lobby connects the existing and expanded convention centre.

The construction project was led by Mississippi-based contractors including W.G. Yates and Sons, Roy Anderson, J.O. Collins and Starks Contracting. Funding came from FEMA and Hurricane Katrina insurance proceeds, Community Development Block Grant money and bonds approved by Harrison County voters in a referendum.
