Pursuant to the contract, the contractor will amalgamate Ynysboeth Infant School and Ynysboeth Junior School to create Ynysboeth Primary School. The new primary school will feature superior designing and comply to highest environmental standards to deliver a bright, modern facility.
The new Ynysboeth Primary School will be built on the site of the existing Ynysboeth Junior School in Abercynon Road, in Mountain Ash. The school will accommodate seven classrooms, including a nursery; a main hall space; and a reception area. The entire facility will be enveloped by a landscaped area, which will double as an external teaching space.
The building will also feature an array of sustainable elements, which will comprise photovoltaic cells that will generate green power to run the facility. The new school building is set to meet a Grade A Energy Performance Certificate and is being aspired for an “Excellent” BREEAM rating.
Construction on the scheme is expected to complete in mid 2013.
